A total of 16 teams will participate in the tournament. They are divided into four  groups comprising four teams each. India is placed in a group that has Chinese Taipei, Malaysia and Australia. Top two teams from each group will qualify for the playoffs.

India Schedule

• 14th May – India v/s Chinese Taipei – 7:30 am IST
• 15th May – India v/s Malaysia – 2:30 pm IST
• 17th May – India v/s Australia – 7.30 am IST
• 19th May – Quarterfinals
• 20th May – Semifinals
• 21st May – Final

India qualified for the tournament after winning the bronze medal at the Asia Mixed Team Badminton Championships earlier this year. The country has never finished on the podium in the tournament before and aim the elusive medal this year.

HS Prannoy, Kidambi Srikanth and Lakshya Sen will be in action in Men’s Singles. A lot will however depend on PV Sindhu in the Women’s Singles. The recent success of World No.5 pair Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty will be an additional boost to India’s chances in the tournament.
