The victory also helped Tunjung register her first-ever win against Sindhu in the tour. The Indonesian had earlier lost seven straight matches. In the contest, Tunjung made Sindu look completely clueless. The World No.12 started mounting pressure on Sindhu right from the start of the contest.
She took an ideal start with a 5-1 lead at the start of the game. Sindhu managed to reduce the gap to 5-4. However it was the only time Sindhu could win successive points. From then on it became a completely lop-sided with Tunjung firing from all cylinders.The Indonesian entered the interval with a 11-6 lead.

Sindhu finally managed to break Tunjung’s run but a net-error from the Indian soon yet again helped the Indonesian lead 18-8. Tunjung soon got to the match point and a net-error from Sindhu helped her seal the first game 21-8.
In the second game, Tunjung took big lead straight away with five straight points to lead 6-1. She played an attacking game making Sindhu move a lot on the court and made it difficult for her to fetch points. Tunjung entered the interval with a 11-3 lead.
She continued her dominance and raced away to a 17-4 lead.The Indian managed to get four more points in the rest of the game as Tunjung went on to seal the second game and clinched the title.
