BWF Rankings: After disappointing show at the All England Open, Lakshya Sen has moved out of Top 20 in the BWF Rankings. In the newly updated BWF Rankings on Tuesday, the Indian dropped down six spots and is currently placed in the 25th spot in the Men’s Singles rankings. Lakshya Sen finished as runner-up in last year’s All England Badminton Championships. The 21-year old however managed to make it only until the second round this year. He bowed out before the quarterfinal stage, after losing against Denmark’s Anders Antonsen.

After his second round exit, he lost 4,800 points after the Super 1000 event. Lakshya, who was the World No.19 last week has now slipped down to the 25th spot in the newly updated rankings. Earlier this year, he also dropped points in the India Open and German Open.

In five tournaments he played this year, he managed just a solitary quarterfinal appearance. The youngster now aims to make a comeback at the Swiss Open that is set to get underway today.

HS Prannoy maintains his spot as the World No.9. The 30-year old lost in the second round at All England this year. Kidambi Srikanth is now the second highest ranked Indian in Singles. He has gone up two places and is currently the World No.20.

Women’s Singles

Meanwhile, despite her first round exit from the All England this year, Sindhu remains at the ninth spot. The two-time Olympic medallist has endured poor form so far this year. She is yet to win a match in the tour. The Indian will next feature in the Swiss Open, where she is the defending champion.

Saina Nehwal slid down further in the rankings. The London Olympic bronze medallist moved out of the Top 20. She is now ranked 32nd in the world.

Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand, reached the Semifinals at the All England this year. With the performance, they have matches their previous year’s result. Despite their efforts the Indian duo dropped down one place. They are now ranked World No.19.  In the Men’s Doubles, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty retained their spot as the World No.6.
