By advancing to the final, the Indian pair have created history. They became the first-ever Men’s Doubles pair from India to reach the summit clash in the history of the tournament.
The contest started off on an even note with both the pairs in a neck-to-neck battle. At 5-5, the Indians took two points to take a slender 7-5 lead. The Taiwanese pair however fought back and took back the lead with three successive points and went up 8-7. The difference continued as the Lee-Wang pair entered the interval with a 11-10 lead.

At 17-17, the Indian pair took two straight points to lead 19-17 and maintained the momentum as the closed out the first game 21-18.
In the second game, the Chinese Taipei pair started off with a 4-1 lead. Chirag and Satwik however levelled the scores 5-5 and yet again the intense battle continued. This time however the Indian duo managed to enter the interval with a slender 11-10 lead.
After the mid-game break, the Taiwanese duo managed to go up 14-12. But while attempting for a shot, Wang Chi Lin injured himself and was grimacing in pain. He soon received medical attention. However the injury didn’t let him get back on the court and the Taiwanese pair opted to pull out of the contest.
Having confirmed a silver medal, the sixth seeded Indian pair will next take on Malaysia’s eighth seed Ong Yew Sin and Teo Ee Yi in the final tomorrow.
