About Women’s Hockey India League
After a gap of seven years, the Hockey India League (HIL) is poised to make a spectacular comeback in the 2024-25 season, featuring an expanded format that includes both men’s and, for the first time, a dedicated women’s league.
The addition of a women’s league alongside the men’s competition marks a notable step towards gender equality in Indian sports. It offers a specific platform for female athletes to display their skills while promoting a more inclusive and competitive future for hockey. This advancement also sets the HIL apart as one of the few sports leagues in India to simultaneously host both men’s and women’s tournaments.
