PV Sindhu beat Saena Kawakami – 21-15, 21-7

Earlier on Friday, apart from Sindhu none of the other Indian shuttlers managed to win their respective quarterfinal contests. While Sindhu prevailed in a nail-biting thriller against China’s Han Yue as the World No.7 won the match 17-21, 21-11, 21-19, Saina Nehwal suffered a heartbreaking 21-13, 15-21, 22-20 loss against Japan’s Aya Ohori in the quarterfinals. HS Prannoy also bowed out from the tournament after losing to Japan’s Kodai Naraoka.
