India’s best squash player for a few years now, Saurav Ghosal has decided to give the National Games and Senior National Championships a miss, which are scheduled to be held in November. In an interaction with Sportstar, he announced his decision to skip both events, to focus on the World Men’s Team Championships.
“I am getting older, and I have to schedule my events (accordingly). It has been a very busy year. I will be part of the Indian team in the World men’s team championship in Tauranga (New Zealand) from December 11 to 17,” Saurav Ghosal was quoted as saying by Sportstar. On the other hand, top women’s player Joshna Chinappa will also skip the Senior National Championships but will participate in the National Games.
Interestingly, both the tournaments will be held back-to-back. The National Games will be held in Goa from November 1 to 5, while the Senior National Championships will take place in Chennai from November 17 to 23.
