Emotional Satwik and Co celebrate in style
After clinching Gold in the Men’s Doubles at the Commonwealth Games (CWG) Satwik and co were invited by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his office where the players were seen wearing official dress code. In a video posted on the Sports Authority India (SAI), the medal winners celebrated his birthday before meeting the PM.

Satwik was especially seen as emotional as he took to his fellow players and got overwhelmed by the manner of celebration. Fellow badminton stars Sumeeth Reddy and Kidambi Srikanth joined the party. Chirag Shetty was also seen in party mode during the celebration.
Interestingly, Table Tennis heroes and paddlers Sharath Kamal, Harmeet Desai and Sathiyan Gnanasekaran were also seen dressed up in the official dress code and joined the celebration. Table Tennis was also one of the most successful as they scalped five medals at the CWG, that included three Gold medals, a Silver and Bronze respectively.

India’s performance at CWG 2022
Badminton stars of India clinched six medals in the sport. PV Sindhu and Lakshya Sen won gold in the men’s and women’s singles category while the men’s doubles team of Chirag Shetty and Satwik Sairaj Rankireddy brought home gold.
India lost in the mixed teams event final and has to settle for a Silver medal, but with others picking up medals in individual disciplines, India had a successful outing.
Overall India clinched 61 medals at the CWG 2022, that included 23 Gold Medals to finish fourth.
