Two back-to-back finals for Satwiksairaj Rankireddy/Chirag Shetty, first at the Malaysia Open Super 1000, and now at the India Open Super 750 means, that the Indian duo will reclaim their World No. 1 spot in the men’s doubles soon. After the duo beat Chia and Soh of Malaysia in straight games on Saturday, it meant, they would overtake the Chinese pair of Liang Wei Keng/ Wang Chang to attain the top spot.
Satwik/Chirag currently have 92561 points, whereas the top-ranked Chinese pair has 99971 points to their name. Meanwhile, the Indian team will be back at the No.1 position after a gap of 12 weeks, after first having attained the feat just after the Asian Games in October.

As far as the India Open is concerned, they are all set to face the World No. 3 South Korean pair of Kang MH and Seo SJ in the India Open final on Sunday. Earlier in the tournament, Satwik/Chirag had also beaten the World No. 5 pair from Denmark Kim Astrup/Anders Rasmussen.
