Garcia Vs Davis PPV: $84 Showtime PPV and $60 DAZN PPV Leaves Fans Shocked- ‘Americans get absolutely ripped off’
Many boxing fans, outraged by the $84.99 PPV price, will likely opt to watch the Davis-Garcia fight for free through an unauthorised stream on April 22. If the Gervonta vs. Ryan PPV is priced too much, potential viewers may decide it’s not worth it to see two relatively inexperienced fighters square off.
Event planners are certain that they have set ticket prices at a level that fans are prepared to pay. A lower price for the Tank-Ryan battle might encourage more fans to buy it rather than forego it, resort to illicit downloading, or wait for it to be uploaded on YouTube that night by posters.

As per the organisers belief, they have set the price, exactly knowing what the viewers are likely to pay.
The $84.99 asking price for the 136-pound catchweight bout between Tank and Ryan is significantly less than the $100 projections. More fans would have ordered the fight if it were priced between $50 and $60, but those opportunities are now gone.

Are DAZN not undercutting Showtime here by offering it at a cheaper price? Not sure what the rules are around this sort of thing, but I’ve always heard this is why DAZN couldn’t do joint ventures before they had PPV, as they’d be offering it way cheaper than another platform 🤷🏿♂️

Massive W for DAZN. My only question is why does the DAZN broadcast start at 9PM but the showtime broadcast starts at 8PM.

Still have to pay for the dazn subscription which is 25 plus the 60 PPV still 85$ 😂😂 don’t be fooled

Surely they’re taking current subscribers into consideration. Willing to bet it’s the $84 for non subscribers. If that’s the case it will help DAZN’s numbers a lot.
There’s no reason to buy the showtime version if you already have DAZN.

I don’t think you have to be an existing DAZN subscriber. I’m pretty sure it is for everyone. Which is a solid deal imo. pic.twitter.com/65H3wsGFw4

It’s the same thing cause you have to buy a DAZN sub

The organisers wanted to price the event for a $100 but were scared to loose fans and viewers for further PPV events in case the event failed fill up the expectations of the viewers.
If PBC/Showtime had charged $100 per family, there would have been enormous pressure to package the event with a solid undercard, which is doubtful at best.
