The countdown for the Paris 2024 Olympics has begun. The biggest sports event in the world is still more than five months away, but the buzz around the sports festival has already started to amp up. The mega event, which is being held in France, has revealed the medals that will be awarded to future champions.
To mark the special occasion, the three medals (Gold, Silver, and Bronze) will be encrusted with an 18-gram piece of original iron taken from the Eiffel Tower. The monument, which is one of the seven wonders of the world, holds a special place for the people of Paris, France, and the medal will be a representation of the country’s respect for the event.
As seen in the video uploaded by the Paris 2024 Olympics organizers, the medals will be hexagon-shaped with a blue strap and covered with gold, silver, or bronze.
As many as 5084 medals will be manufactured for the global sporting event. These medals have been designed by the famous French jewelry brand Chaumet. The Paris 2024 Olympic Games will be held from July 26 to August 11.
