Relive Neeraj Chopra’s garba performance at National Games 2022 opening ceremony

Neeraj Chopra had recently concluded his 2023 season with a gold medal at the Asian Games.

Neeraj Chopra is perhaps the biggest star in the country, and can even take on Indian cricketers when it comes to popularity. The Tokyo Olympics gold medalist has every title possible to his name, and would once again like to repeat his feat at the Paris 2024 Games. But the champion javelin thrower deserves some time off from training and competitions as well to keep him fresh and injury-free. After defending his title at the Asian Games, Neeraj is on a slight break after the season ended on a high for him.

Neeraj Chopra Entralled Crowds with Garba

It was last year during the festive season that Neeraj wowed one and all with his traditional Garba dance at the Navratri celebrations in Vadodara. He danced along with the local crowd in traditional attire. Meanwhile, the champion received a warm welcome with chants of “Garam Garam seera, Neeraj humara heera” which translates to ‘Seera is hot, Neeraj is our diamond.’

All this happened at the opening of the National Games 2022, which were held in Ahmedabad. Neeraj, however, did not participate in the Games after he was advised to rest by his coach Dr Klaus Bartonietz.
