The United World Wrestling released the seeds for wrestling events which saw only 2 Indian wrestlers receive seeding ahead of Paris Olympics

Ace Indian wrestlers Vinesh Phogat, Anshu Malik, Reetika and Neha Dahiya will head into the Paris Olympics 2024 unseeded. The United World Wrestling released the seeds for wrestling events on Friday which saw only two Indian wrestlers receive seeding ahead of the marquee event. Aman Sehrawat and Antim Panghal are the only Indian wrestlers who are seeded at present.

No seeds for Vinesh, Anshu ahead of Paris Olympics

Antim Panghal is seeded 4th in the women’s 53 kg category. Aman Sehrawat, on the other hand, has been seeded 7th in the men’s 57 kg category. Antim will not have a face-off with world champion Akari Fujinami until the final as the latter is seeded third and will therefore be in a different bracket.

Meanwhile, India’s sole male wrestler at the Paris Olympics – Aman Sehrawat – is likely to face three-time World Championship medalist and third-seed Arsen Harutyunyan of Armenia in the quarter-final.
