All eyes will be on PV Sindhu when the Indian contingent arrives at the Paris 2024 Olympics. A two-time medalist, Sindhu is aiming to become the first Indian athlete to secure three Olympic medals in individual sports. Right now, she’s tied with Sushil Kumar, who, like her, has one silver and one bronze medal.
Sindu claimed a silver in the Rio 2016 Olympics, losing to Carolina Marin of Spain in three games. In the next games (Tokyo), she beat He Bingjiao of China to win her second medal, a bronze.
PV Sindhu ready to create history at the Paris 2024 Olympics
With little over three months left before the Paris Olympics, the ace shuttler is ready for the big challenge. Sindhu took to X (formerly Twitter), expressing her desire to create history and win that third medal.

What stands between PV Sindhu and ultimate glory?
The former World No. 2 hasn’t won a title since August 2022, and injuries have troubled her for the past year. She last played in the Badminton Asia Championships, where she suffered a Round of 16 loss, and decided to skip the Uber Cup to focus on the Paris Olympics.
Right now, she’s slipped down to 14th in the ranking and last made the semifinals of a tournament in October 2023. Although she’s just 28, she has now been playing for the last 13 years. It looks like age and fitness are catching up. But if you were to back any Indian athlete to win a medal at the Paris 2024 Olympics, it would be PV Sindhu.
