India’s badminton stars PV Sindhu and Lakshya Sen moved closer to entering the top ten rankings for men’s and women’s singles following their victories in Syed Modi International tournament. Sindhu defeated Wu Luo Yu in the finals of the women’s single event while Sen locked horns with Jia Heng Jason Teh. Both stars were looking out of touch ahead of the tournament and were desperate to return to form.

PV Sindhu jumped by two places to settle in the 16th position on the rankings for women’s singles. In 58 matches, she has amassed 58,112 points and her victory in Syed Modi International tournament propelled her from 18th spot to 16th. Lakshya Sen also witnessed a jump by 2 spots to settle at the 12th position in the updated rankings for men’s singles. In 17 tournaments, Sen has managed to score 63,668 points. It is pertinent to point out that both Sindhu and Sen are the highest ranked Indian stars currently.
