The Pro Kabaddi 2023 begins on December 2 later this year, but prior to that the PKL auction is taking place in Mumbai. The auction has already thrown some big numbers as Pawan Sehrawat became the most expensive buy. He was bought by Telugu Titans for 2.6 crores. Iran’s Mohammadreza Shadloui meanwhile bagged a 2.3 crore contract with Puneri Paltan.
The teams have retained 84 players in total ahead of the auctions and after Day 1, they still have to fill their squad with the Category C and Category D players to go under the hammer on Tuesday.
Rules of PKL 2023 Auction
As per the Pro Kabaddi website, the PKL 2023 auction pool will see more than 500 players go under the hammer. The pool comprises the released players from franchises along with kabaddi players from the domestic level. This includes squad players from PKL Seasons 8 and 9 and the top eight ranked teams from the Senior Nationals Kabaddi Championship from the last two seasons. Overseas players will also be in the auction pool. Furthermore, we will also see the inclusion of 24 players from the two finalist teams of Khelo India University Games, 2023 in the auction pool.
A team needs to have a minimum of 18 players in their squad, while 25 is the maximum number for Pro Kabaddi 2023.

When will the Pro Kabaddi 2023 auction begin?
The auction will take place on October 9 & 10 in Mumbai from 8.30 PM IST. The timings for the second day are not out as yet.
