The Pro Kabaddi League (PKL) is gearing up for its eleventh season, and kabaddi enthusiasts are in for a treat. Mashal Sports, the league organizers, have announced that the highly anticipated Player Auction will be held on Independence Day weekend, August 15th and 16th, in Mumbai.
Decade of Kabaddi Thrills
This announcement comes just a day after the PKL commemorated its 10th anniversary on July 26th, 2024. The league has come a long way since its electrifying inaugural match between U Mumba and Jaipur Pink Panthers in Mumbai a decade ago.
Having successfully concluded its tenth season earlier this year, PKL has secured its place as the second Indian sports league to reach this milestone.
New PKL logo with patriotic spirit
Adding to the excitement, Mashal Sports unveiled a brand new logo for Season 11. The logo prominently features the saffron and green of the Indian tricolor, symbolizing kabaddi’s position as a source of national pride.

“We are thrilled to announce that the Player Auction for PKL Season 11 will coincide with Independence Day this year,” said Anupam Goswami, League Commissioner of the Pro Kabaddi League.
He further emphasized the significance of kabaddi as a quintessential Indian sport and how the PKL showcases it as a world-class competition. “This is a momentous occasion for everyone involved in the PKL and the kabaddi ecosystem in India,” he added.

Developed under the aegis of the Amateur Kabaddi Federation of India (AKFI), PKL, in partnership with Disney Star, has established itself as one of India’s most successful sports leagues. The league has been instrumental in elevating the image of kabaddi, both domestically and internationally.
The rise of PKL has also spurred the development of kabaddi programs in several kabaddi-playing nations, with many of their players finding a platform in the league.
