Pro Kabaddi: From Fazel Atrachali to Surjeet Singh, PKL’s overall records by defenders

The PKL 2023 is just a few days away and the 12 teams gear up for the upcoming season that is set to begin from 2nd December 2023.

As the players are preparing to showcase extraordinary raids and impressive tackle, InsideSport takes a look at the record-breaking performances in defence in the league’s history.

PKL 2023 Records in defence

Most Tackle Points in Pro Kabaddi- Fazel Atrachali

Iranian superstar Fazel Atrachali is the player with the most tackle points in the history of the Pro Kabaddi League. The Iranian defender has 424 tackle points.

He is the first and the only player so far with more than 400 tackle points in the history of the league. Atrachali achieved the feat only last year in the league. He will be playing for Gujarat Giants in the upcoming edition of the PKL.

Successful Tackles in Pro Kabaddi – Fazel Atrachali

The Iranian has also effected the most successful tackles in the league so far. He leads with exactly 400 tackle points.

He is the first player in the history of the league to achieve 400 successful tackle points. Retired Manjeet Chhilar is at a distant second with 374 points to his name.

Most High 5s – Surjeet Singh

Indian veteran defender Surjeet Singh tops the tally for most High 5s in the league. Surjeet Singh who was part of the recent gold-medal winning Asian Games has 29 Highs 5s so far in the Pro Kabaddi.

He is followed closely by Fazel Atrachali, who has 26 to his name. Surjeet Singh will be playing for Bengaluru Bulls in the upcoming edition of the PKL.

Super Tackles – Vishal Bhardwaj & Parvesh Bhainswal

Vishal Bhardwaj and Parvesh Bhainswal lead the super tackles tally in PKL. Both the players have effected 31 Super Tackles to their name in the league so far.

Vishal Bhardwaj achieved it in just 99 matches. Parvesh Bhainswal meanwhile has played 126 matches in his PKL career.
