India’s ace javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra is all set to miss the Paris Diamond League which is scheduled to begin on July 17. His move comes just before the much awaited Paris Olympics. The announcement made by the Paris Diamond League website on the champions taking part in the event does not mention Neeraj’s name.
Neeraj Chopra puts Paris Olympics on priority
Neeraj Chopra will reportedly not take part in the event because he isn’t required to compete in it. This means the ace athlete’s next main event will be the Paris Olympics. Earlier in May, Neeraj had confirmed his participation in this very league.
The 26-year-old Tokyo Olympics champion recently decimated the opposition to win a gold at the Paavo Nurmi Games in Finland. Facing German teen sensation Max Dehning for the very first time, Neeraj Chopra produced a best throw of 85.97m to take the top prize on the day.
