The Pro Kabaddi League is changing the fortunes of the players who graced the sport with no substantial financial rewards. Star Sports and Mashal Sports have changed the sport, that would gain media headlines for Asian Games success once every four years, into one of India’s most successful sporting tales. The government job in recognition of international success would remain the biggest financial support system for the players. Today, there are annual contracts worth crore rupees.

Star Sports and Mashal Sports have changed the scenario for Indian kabaddi over the course of a mere four years and five seasons. As the Pro Kabaddi League Season 6 gets underway on Sunday, October 7, six players will enter the fray for an assured prize purse of ₹ 1 crore or above. The top 10 PKL earners this season will aggregate ₹ 9,30,63,000 in salaries alone.

JSW Group-owned Haryana Steelers’ Monu Goyat will end up richer by ₹1.51 crore. That has been the highest bid for at the Pro Kabaddi League players auction in Mumbai on May 29-30 this year.  Fazel Atrachali of Iran is among the crorepatis of ISL Season 6.

Tamil Thalaivas ₹ 76.23 lakh commitment is the 10th highest player acquisition deal for the season.
