Haryana Steelers Performance over the years
One among the six teams to have not won a title yet, Haryana Steelers last made it to the playoff back in the 2019 edition of the league.
Before 2019, their only other playoff appearance was in 2019. In both the editions, the team failed to go past the eliminator. Last year, the team managed to finish sixth in the league and fell just two points short of qualifying for the playoffs.
Haryana Steelers Retained Players
Coach Manpreet Singh opted for a complete overhaul of the team ahead of the upcoming season. The management decided to retain only the experienced raider K Prapanjan among the elite players. They let go of big names like Raiders Manjeet, Meetu and Rakesh Narwal.
In terms of the defence, the management has shown faith in the defense combo of Jaideep Dahiya and Mohit Nandal by retaining them. Four new young players in Monu, Naveen, Harsh and Sunny were also retained by the side ahead of the auction.
How the team fared at the auction?
In a bid to acquire the services of a big raider, the team went all-out on Siddharth Desai and bought him for 1 crore. The team also added another experienced raider in their line-up in Chandran Ranjith.
Rahul Sethpal was the most expensive defender bought by the team at the auction. The Steelers acquired his services for 40.7 lakhs. Mohit and Himanshu Choudhary are the other defenders.
