Gujarat Giants are eyeing their maiden title in the Pro Kabaddi League. The team coached by Ram Meher Singh made some big changes to the squad for the PKL 2023. Experienced Iranian Fazel Atrachali was bought for is likely to lead the side.
Gujarat Giants will be facing Telugu Titans in the opening match of the league this season on 2nd December. InsideSport takes a look at the probable starting seven for the match.
PKL 2023 – Gujarat Giants Starting seven vs Telugu Titans
Rakesh Sangroya
Rakesh Sangroya will lead the team’s raiding department. He has been consistently scoring over 100 raid points in the last two seasons. This year his job will be to improve his showing from the last two editions. He must look to score over 150 raid points.
Prateek Dahiya
Prateek Dahiya impressed in his debut season in the PKL last year. The youngster picked up 183 raid points in 19 matches that included 11 Super 10s.
His performances made the team retain him ahead of the PKL 2023 auction. Much is expected of him this year and he will be the team’s key player in the upcoming season.

Rohit Gulia
Gujarat Giants bought all-rounder Rohit Gulia at the auction this year. Gulia impressed for Patna Pirates last season with 115 raid points.
He was bought at the auction for 58.5 lakhs. In Rohit, the team has a good raider to support Prateek and Rakesh.
Fazel Atrachali
Fazel Atrachali will be the star attraction in the Gujarat Giants squad in PKL 2023. He will lead the team in the defence.
The best defender in the Pro Kabaddi League history is also likely to takeover the captaincy of the team. His experience will be invaluable to the side that is aiming to win the maiden title.
Mohammad Nabhibhaksh
Another Iranian in Mohammad Nabhibhaksh will also be a partner in crime to Atrachali in defence. His experience will also come in handy for the team this season. Nabhibhaksh can also step in with the raids whenever needed and he is a complete package.
Sourav Gulia
Sourav Gulia was bought back at the auction by the Gujarat Giants in this year’s auction for 13 lakhs. He played 16 matches last season and picked up 16 tackle points. The youngster will play in the right cover.
Sombir
Sombir played for Puneri Paltan last year and picked up 35 tackle points. Having had the experience of playing alongside Fazel Atrachali and Mohammad Nabhibhaksh last season, he is likely to be favoured in the starting seven in the opening match.
