PKL 2022 HIGHLIGHTS: PKL 2022 LIVE – Bengaluru Bulls, Bengal Warriors, and Jaipur Pink Panthers were the sides who claimed win in their respective matches in the ongoing Pro Kabaddi League Season 9 (PKL 9) on Sunday. While Puneri Paltan, Telugu Titans, and Patna Pirates were the teams on the losing side. All three matches of matchday 3 were held at the Shree Kanteerava Indoor Stadium in Bengaluru. Bengaluru Bulls held their nerve as they defeated Puneri Paltan in the edge-of-the-seat thriller. The Bulls denied Paltan a glorious comeback by defeating them 41-39 in PKL 2022. Notably, the home side were leading Paltan by 28-14 at half-time. Earlier in the evening, former champions Bengal Warriors completely dominated Telugu Titans.

The Warriors registered the biggest win of PKL 9 as they drubbed the Titans by 45-25. While in match number one of the day, despite a late resurgence from Patna Pirates, Jaipur Pink Panthers reigned supreme 35-30. Arjun Deshwal was the star of the show as he registered 17 points and of that, 10 points came inside the first half alone

Here’s our match report for the matchday 3 matches:

Match 7 || Jaipur Pink Panthers vs Patna Pirates

Arjun Deshwal put up a performance for the ages to help his team Jaipur Pink Panthers register a comprehensive 35-30 victory over Patna Pirates in Match 7 of the Pro Kabaddi League Season 9 at the Shree Kanteerava Indoor Stadium in Bengaluru on Sunday. Deshwal picked up 17 points, while Rohit Gulia emerged as the best player for Patna with 11 points.

Rohit Gulia chipped in with a couple of raids as Patna Pirates inched ahead at 6-3 in the 8th minute. However, Arjun Deshwal helped Jaipur level the scores at 7-7 through a few fabulous raids. Moments later, Patna were on the verge of being ALL OUT, but Sachin effected a raid and ensured that his team stayed in the lead at 10-9.

However, the Panthers eventually inflicted an ALL OUT and gained the lead at 12-11. Jaipur’s defender Ankush also stepped up his game as his team attained a massive lead at 17-12 in the 18th minute. The Pink Panthers comfortably led at 18-14 at the end of the first half.Deshwal effected a SUPER RAID in the 27th minute and reduced the Pirates to just one player on the mat. Moments later, the Panters inflicted an ALL OUT and took complete control of the match at 27-17. V Ajith also showcased top form as Jaipur kept forging ahead.

Sachin effected a fantastic raid in the 37th minute, but the Pirates couldn’t find a way to pick up points consistently allowing Jaipur to hold on to their lead at 34-26. Thereafter, the Jaipur raiders stopped taking risks and treaded carefully on the mat before closing out a comprehensive victory.

PKL 2022 LIVE: Match 8 || Telugu Titans vs Bengal Warriors

Maninder Singh and Deepak Hooda were on fire, as they helped the Bengal Warriors put in a strong performance against the Telugu Titans, defeating them 45-25at the Shree Kanteerava Indoor Stadium. The Warriors, who never looked out of control, picked up their first points this season.

The experienced Telugu Titans were off the blocks quickly against the Bengal Warriors led by Maninder Singh, who however fought back and wiped out the three-point early lead, and surged ahead.

Maninder inflicted an ALL OUT while Vaibhav Garje and Shrikant Jadhav helped consolidate, giving the Bengal Warriors an 8-point lead after the first ten minutes, with the score reading 13-5.

Maninder and co continued in their merry ways as Vinay, Rajnish and the Titans conceded another ALL OUT before the end of the first half.

The Warriors continued to pull away with almost every play, and finished the half with 7 tackle points and a 15-point lead, as the score read 25-10 in their favour. The Titans had a mountain to climb.

Early in the second half, the Titans pitched in with a couple of raids but could not build on that as Deepak Hooda joined the party for the Warriors and further stretched the lead. Maninder registered a SUPER TEN with more than 13 minutes still to go, as the Warriors continued to be their relentless self.

With 10 minutes to go, the Titans had a 19-point lead to fight off. Deepak Hooda inflicted another Super Raid as the Warriors continued to pile on the misery. Along expected lines, the Warriors closed out a clinical victory.

Puneri Paltan vs Bengaluru Bulls

The Bengaluru Bulls sat comfortably with a 14-point lead at the end of the first half, courtesy raiders Vikash Kandola and Bharat, but Puneri Paltan’s Aslam Inamdar and Mohit Goyat weren’t going to give up. They came out all guns blazing in the second half and levelled the scores at 35-35. However, Kandola and Bharat ensured that the Bulls walked off the mat as winners with the scoreline reading 41-39 in the end.

Raiders Aslam Inamdar and Mohit Goyat helped Puneri Paltan get off to a fabulous start as they raced away to a three-point lead at 5-2.  However, moments later, Vikash Kandola pulled off a multi-point raid as Bengaluru gained the lead at 8-6.

The Bulls kept raging on and inflicted an ALL OUT in the 8th minute to widen their lead at 13-7. Aslam and Mohit kept effecting raids, but the Bulls managed to keep their noses in front. Bengaluru’s Bharat got on a roll and picked up a flurry of raid points to hand his team a massive lead at 28-14 at the end of the first half.

Aslam Inamdar and Mohit Goyat picked up a few points in the second half, but the Puneri Paltan couldn’t catch up with the Bengaluru Bulls. However, the Pune team kept fighting hard and inflicted an ALL OUT 32nd minute and got closer to Bulls’ score at 26-33. Goyat picked up a couple of raid points to reduce the gap between the teams even more as the Bulls held on to a slender lead at 33-31 in the 36th minute.

Moments later, the Pune team inflicted another ALL OUT to level the scores at 35-35. With less than 3 minutes to go on the clock, Kandola picked up a crucial raid point to hand Bulls the lead at 36-35. Thereafter, the Bengaluru Bulls held their nerve and closed out a close victory.
