And it’s official. The PKL season 11 will begin on October 18, the organisers of the league announced on Tuesday. The Pro Kabaddi this year will return to it’s three-city caravan format, where the proceedings would start in Hyderabad (Gachibowli Indoor Stadium, followed by the second leg in Noida Indoor Stadium from November 10, and finally at the Balewadi Badminton Stadium in Pune, from December 3.
Meanwhile, the full schedule, the dates and venues for the playoffs will be announced later. Anupam Goswami, League Commissioner, PKL said, “We are delighted to announce the start date and venues for PKL Season 11. After successfully completing 10 seasons, PKL Season 11 will mark a new milestone in the continued rise of the league. This would strengthen the growth of Kabaddi in India and elsewhere around the world.”
PKL Auction Sees Record Bidding
The recently concluded PKL Auction in Mumbai on 15-16 August, saw eight players bagging contracts over Rs 1 crore. Raider Sachin was the most expensive buy in the entire PKL auction, and was sold to Tamil Thalaivas for Rs 2.15 Cr. He was closely followed by Iran’s Mohammadreza Shadloui, who was bagged by Haryana Steelers for Rs 2.07 cr.

Apart from that, raider Guman Singh was bought for Rs 1.97 Cr by Gujarat Giants, and Pawan Sehrawat was retained by the Telugu Titans for a massive Rs 1.725 Cr. Another Indian, Bharat was sold to UP Yoddhas for Rs 1.30 Cr. Sunil Kumar emerged as the most expensive defender, and was purchased for Rs 1.015 Cr.
