Rain postpones event on Day 1 of Paris Olympics

What was the need of the hour? Every event in Paris Olympics run according to the plan. But that was not to be. The rain gods had a different mind and thus the opening day of the Paris Olympics see a major event getting postponed for at least 2 days. Day 1 was slated to see the men’s skateboard event taking place.

But now the event has been postponed till 29th July, i.e Monday. Overnight rain has made the bowl and track conditions slippery. As a result, it is now safe for the skateboarders to compete. Thus, the event has been scheduled to a later date till conditions improve.

The previous day, the grand opening ceremony too was marred with rain. The teams arriving via a boat on the river Seine were drenched to their skin as the heavens opened up. One can now assume that the rain gods have respite so that the games can continue in full flow.
