Sen displayed a defensive masterclass, often playing no look shots and long rallies to ensure his victory.
Talk about dominance and sheer will power. The 22-year old India ace had a slow start into the game. While his counterpart was ready to take the game, Lakshya had other ideas. He immediately pounced on his opponent and applied the added pressure. While the first game continued for 28 long minutes it was a well fought contest between the two opponents.
With his deft precision, Lakshya executed a maddening back hand to force his opponent to play a wrong shot and win the rally. Eventually, the Indian star went on to win Game 1 with a score line of 21-18.

Jonatan did try to force a comeback, but Lakshya was well prapared for that. He finished the game on a good note to wrap it up with a score of 21-12.
