India’s Dhiraj Bommadevara, Ankita Bhakat qualify 5th for archery mixed team event

With Dhiraj Bommadevara in fine form and Ankita Bhakat showing promise, the Indian team will be confident of their chances against Indonesia in the pre-quarterfinals.

India’s mixed archery team, comprising Dhiraj Bommadevara and Ankita Bhakat, has secured the fifth seed for the upcoming mixed team event at the Paris Olympics 2024. The duo’s impressive performances in the individual ranking round propelled them to this position.

Dhiraj Bommadevara continued his stellar form, finishing fourth in the men’s individual ranking round with a score of 681 out of 720. Ankita Bhakat, making her Olympic debut, also shone, securing the 11th spot in the women’s event with a score of 666.

Dhiraj Bommadevara and Ankita Bhakat combined efforts have placed India in a favorable position for the mixed team event, where they will face Indonesia in the pre-quarterfinals.

South Korea break another Olympics record

Meanwhile, South Korea has rewritten the record books once again, setting a new Olympic record in the mixed team ranking round. The duo of Kim Woojin and Lim Sihyeon, who broke the women’s individual world record earlier in the day, combined for a total score of 1380, surpassing the previous mark set by their compatriots in Tokyo.
