Paris Olympics, Day 11: India hockey team lose in semifinals, Vinesh Phogat to fight for gold

India's Neeraj Chopra marched into the final with 89.34m throw while Vinesh Phogat was sensational in semifinals and will fight for gold on Wednesday. India lose to Germany in hockey semifinals.

Paris Olympics Live: Team India did not start the 11th day on a great note as javelin thrower Kishore Jena managing a best throw of only 80.73m in the qualification round, where the standard was set at 84m. However, Neeraj Chopra was at his best with a throw of 89.34m, his season best. This was his second best after 89.94m. On the other hand, the men’s table tennis team was poor against China too, not putting up a fight against the opponents. However, the best of the day was Vinesh Phogat who stunned Tokyo gold medalist Yui Susaki and she will now fight for gold on Wednesday.

The Indian men’s hockey team lost a valiant fight to Germany 2-3 in the semifinals. They will now take on Spain in the bronze medal match.
