But what makes MS Dhoni a legend is that he is an inspiration to many. Recently, it came to light that Olympic bronze medalist Swapnil Kusale credits MS Dhoni for his success. But why is this the case? Why does this young shooter, who hoisted the Indian flag by clinching bronze in the 50-meter air rifle event at the Paris Olympics with his score of 451.4, but why does he give so much credit to the former captain? Swapnil Kusale – MS Dhoni Connection

Just like MS Dhoni, Swapnil Kusale also started his career as a ticket collector. Kusale has been working for Central Railways since 2015, mostly serving in the Pune region. It is noteworthy that after waiting for 12 long years , having been participating in international events since 2012, now finally made his Olympic debut. As mentioned, he credits MS Dhoni a lot.

He himself once said, ‘I admire MS Dhoni for the person that he is. My sport requires me to be as calm and patient as he is on the field. I also relate to his story as I am a ticket collector like he was,’ Swapnil told PTI.

Who is Swapnil Kusale

Born into a farming family in Kambalwadi village near Kolhapur in Maharashtra, his father enrolled him in Krida Prabhodini, the Maharashtra government’s main sports program, in 2009.

After a year of intense physical preparation, Kusale had to choose one activity, and he selected shooting. Slowly and gradually, he developed into a shooting star, and now he has become the third athlete to bring a medal from the Paris Olympics, following Manu Bhaker and Sarabjot Singh.
