India’s tennis ace Sumit Nagal staged an epic comeback against Slovakia’s Lucas Klein to make it to the pre-quarterfinals of the ATP 250 Kitzbuhel Open in Austria. Nagal, who is bound for the Paris Olympics next, put up a brave fight after being nearly pushed into defeat in the game. The Indian ace clinched the game with a 6-4, 1-6, 7-6 (3) win.

Sumit Nagal recovers after shaky start in Austria

While Nagal clinched the first set, Klein outclassed the Indian by a huge margin, taking the game down the wire to the third set. At one point, Nagal was 3-5 and it looked like the game was slipping away from the hands of the Indian. The match then entered into a tie break where he emerged victorious 7-3. Nagal will next face fourth seeded Spaniard Pedro Martinez, a world No. 45 in the round of 16.
