Paris Olympics: More embarrassment for India in wrestling. After humiliating loss, Antim Panghal and support staff deported from Paris for massive disciplinary breach

After the Vinesh Phogat fiasco, another women wrestler makes the headlines in Paris Olympics. Antim Panghal and her support staff are being departed from Paris after massive disciplinary breaches. Reports claim after her lost bout, Antim gave her accreditation to her sister to get her stuff from the Olympics village.

Her sister entered the village to collect her staff and on her exit was stopped by the authorities. After her bout, Antim headed directly to her coaches hotel and asked her sister Nisha to collect her belongings on her behalf. Nisha was taken to the police station to record her statements.

Furthermore, it was also reported that her two coaches misbehaved with a taxi driver, who further lodged a complaint to the police. After Nisha was brought to the police station for impersonating Antim and entering the Olympics village, the IOA claimed that she and her support staff are returning to the country.

“The Indian Olympic Association has decided to fly wrestler Antim and her support staff back after a disciplinary breach was brought to IOA’s notice by the French authorities,” an IOA statement said.

Earlier in the day, Antim fought in the 53 kg women’s category. She faced a humiliating 10-0 loss to Turkey’s Yetgil Zeynep.
