Paris Olympics Schedule, Day 13: Neeraj Chopra in action, hockey team to play for bronze, Aman-Anshu to make debut

August 8 is going to be a big day for India as two medals will be on stake at Paris Olympics.

Bad news came for India on the 12th day of the Paris Olympics 2024. Vinesh Phogat was disqualified before the final match, and now she’s out of medal contention. Leaving the bad day behind, on August 8, India will hope for two medals. Neeraj Chopra and the Indian hockey team will be seen playing their medal matches.

If they win their respective matches, then India’s medals will be confirmed. Wrestlers Anshu Malik and Aman Sehrawat will be making their Paris Olympics debut.

Athletics: Historic Final for Neeraj Chopra

Indian star javelin thrower Neeraj performed brilliantly in the qualification round, making it to the final with a throw of 89.34 meters in his first attempt. His match will be played at 11:55 pm. Neeraj also won the gold medal in the Tokyo Olympics. Notably, Norman Pritchard, Sushil Kumar, PV Sindhu, and Manu Bhaker have won two Olympic medals each for India in individual events.

Additionally, Jyoti Yaraji will be competing in the 100m repechage at 2:05 pm.

Golf: Aditi Ashok and Diksha Dagar in Action

Aditi Ashok and Diksha Dagar will be seen continuing their golf match at 12:30 pm.

Hockey: Bronze medal match for India

India will play its match for the bronze medal. In the Paris Olympics 2024, the Indian hockey team lost in the semi-final match, 3-2 against Germany. Now the team will play its bronze medal match against Spain on August 8 at 5:30 pm. The team aims to win the bronze medal in the Olympics for the second consecutive time by winning this match.

Wrestling: New hopes in Anshu Malik and Aman Sehrawat

They will start with their Round of 16 matches, and if they progress, they will play until the semifinal matches on Day 13.
