Paris Olympics 2024 schedule for day 10: Wrestling begins, Lakshya Sen eyes bronze, Sable to compete

The Indian hockey team made it to the semifinals on Day 8. After a devastating loss in the semifinals, Lakshya Sen will compete in the bronze medal match at the Paris Olympics.

After an amazing 9th day at the Paris Olympics 2024, Indian players are all set to give it their all on the 10th day of the mega event.

On Day 9, the Indian men’s hockey team performed brilliantly and secured a place in the semi-finals. They are just one win away from securing a medal.

On August 5, Indian athletes will face challenges in table tennis, badminton, sailing, athletics, wrestling, and shooting.

Shooting

India’s skeet mixed team of Anant Jeet Singh Naruka and Mahwashwari Chauhan will compete in the qualification match at 12:30 PM. If they qualify, they will compete in the finals at 6:30 PM.

Athletics

Kiran Pahal and medal hopeful Avinash Sable will compete in athletics. Avinash Sable will race in the men’s 3000m steeplechase, starting in the second heat at 10:34 PM. He will aim to make his mark in this event.

Kiran Pahal will compete in the women’s 400m race, running in Heat 5 during the first round at 3:25 PM.

Wrestling

Wrestling events will commence on August 5. Indian wrestler Nisha Dahiya will compete in the 1/8 finals of the women’s 68kg freestyle event. If she qualifies, she will move on to the 1/4 finals at 7:50 PM, and if she wins, she will advance to the semi-finals at 1:10 AM later in the night.

Badminton

India’s sole player in medal contention, Lakshya Sen, will face Malaysia’s Lee Zii Jia in the bronze medal match at 6:00 PM. After losing to Denmark’s Viktor Axelsen in the semi-final, Lakshya has a chance to become the first Indian men’s badminton player to win an Olympic medal.

Table Tennis

India’s women’s table tennis team will compete against Romania in the round of 16 at 1:30 PM. Archana Kamath, Manika Batra, and Sreeja Akula will represent India.

Sailing

Nethra Kumanan will participate in the 9th and 10th races of the women’s dinghy event, starting at 3:45 PM. Vishnu Saravanan will also compete in the 9th and 10th races of the men’s dinghy event, beginning at 6:10 PM.
