China is currently at the top, with a total of 20 medals including 11 gold. The hosts, France, are in second place with 8 medals. The powerhouse of the Olympic Games, the USA, is at seventh place in the tally.

With its second medal, India has risen to 27th place in the standings, tied with Moldova. India is expected to improve its position, with shooters, shuttlers, and paddlers advancing to the next rounds.

In the last Olympics in Tokyo, India won a total of 7 medals, including a historic gold by Neeraj Chopra. This was India’s best performance to date. With strong performances expected, India is aiming for a double-digit medal count in the French capital this year.
