India’s hopes for a medal in the men’s 25m rapid fire pistol event have been dashed as both Vijayveer Sidhu and Anish Bhanwala failed to qualify for the Paris Olympics final.
Vijayveer Sidhu finished in ninth position with a final score of 583-26x, while Anish Bhanwala ended his campaign in 13th place with a total of 582-22x. Despite their best efforts, the Indian shooters couldn’t secure a place in the final, bringing an end to their Olympic journey in this event.
The both players were well-placed in the Top-6 to enter the final before the final series. But a very poor last series saw, dropping both of them out of the Top-8 and hence out of the Olympic final. This marks the end of India’s rifle and pistol shooters at the Paris Olympics.
Vijayveer shot 45 in his last series of five shots, Anish shot 46.
