Indian Hockey Team to play for bronze again, loses semi-final vs Germany

India will now face Spain in the bronze medal match, a chance to salvage a medal from the tournament.

India’s men’s hockey team narrowly missed out on a place in the Paris 2024 Olympic final, suffering a heartbreaking 3-2 defeat to Germany in the semifinal.

Harmanpreet Singh and Sukhjeet scored for India. While Gonzalo Peillat, Christopher Ruhr, Marco Miltkau were the scorers for Germans as they stormed into Paris Olympics 2024 Final.

India dominant but fails to enter Paris Olympics Final

Despite dominating large portions of the match and creating numerous scoring opportunities, India couldn’t capitalize on their dominance. A missed chance by Shamsher Singh in the last second of the match captured the mood of India. Men in Blue were dominating the match, but there was no precision in their strikes, and they missed the presence of Amit Rohidas during the Penalty Corners.

Grmans too efficient

Missing chances on Harmanpreet Singh’s multiple penalty corners proved particularly costly for India. Germany, renowned for their efficiency, made the most of their opportunities, ultimately securing the win.
