Paris Olympics 2024, Day 3: Manika Batra secures spot in the round of 16

Paris Olympics 2024: India contingent has missed two meals on Day 3 with Arjun Babuta and Ramita Jindal missing out. Manu Bhaker will vie for another bronze on Tuesday.

It is now time for Paris Olympics Day 3. But it hasn’t been a great day so far. Two shooters Arjun babuta and Ramita Jindal have lost out on a medal. Babuta finished 4th while Jindal ended up in 7th. However, Manu Bhaker will fight for another bronze medal on Tuesday. The Men’s Archery team will also be in contention for a medal later on in the day.

The only good news for India came when Satwik-Chirag proceeded to the next round after Corvee/Labar lost their match to Fajar/Alfian, the Indonesian pair. From this group the German pair had already pulled out.

India’s fight in Day 3 kick start women’s doubles of Ashwini and Tanisha Crasto. Later on in the day, Lakshay Sen will continue his pursuit for Olympics medal. Furthermore, India’s hockey team will take on Argentina in their Pool B clash.

In shooting, Manu Bhaker will be action again. She won her maiden bronze and India’s first medal in Paris Olympics, the other day in 10 m Air Pistol finals. Manu will partner Sarabjot while Sangwan & Arjun will also compete in the mixed doubles of 10 m Air Pistol qualifiers. Prithviraj Tondaiman will compete in the Men’s trap qualifiers. Ace paddler Sreeja Akula will be the last Indian athlete to continue her pursuit in table tennis.
