Paris Olympics 2024, Day 1: Mixed day for India comes to an end, Manu Bhaker emerges star

Paris Olympics LIVE: Manu Bhaker gave the Indian contingent much to rejoice after she made it to the final of the women's 10m air pistol event.

Paris Olympics, Day 1 Live Updates: The day for India started with rower Balraj Panwar failing to qualify for the quarters directly in the men’s singles sculls. He will appear in a repechage round now. As far as shooting is concerned, the 10m rifle mixed team event is concerned, Ramita/Arjun and Sandeep/Elavenil failed to make the medal rounds.

After that, in the men’s 10m air pistol event, Sarabjot Singh missed out the final qualification by a whisker. Having said that, Manu Bhaker made it to the final in the women’s discipline.

The Indian contingent are in hunt for medals in 7 different sports today. Shooting will see most athletes in action—eight, followed by five in Badminton. Balraj Panwar, Harmeet Desai, Preeti Panwar and Rohan Bopanna-N Sriram Balaji will represent India in Rowing, Table Tennis, Boxing and Tennis respectively, while the Men’s Hockey Team will face New Zealand as well.
