This will be the 17th edition of the Paralympics Games.

Two weeks later, Paris fell in love with sports once again. The Paralympics begin today, as the opening ceremony took place at the Place de la Concorde and the Champs-Elysées. French President Emmanuel Macron opened the 2024 Paralympics. A total of 4,400 Paralympians from 167 countries marched from the Champs-Elysées to Place de la Concorde.

In a proud moment for India, para-athletes Sumit Antil and Bhagyashri Jadhav led the largest-ever Indian contingent, consisting of 84 athletes across 12 sports. The ceremony itself was a grand display of diversity, resilience, and competitive spirit, featuring stunning performances that showcased French culture and the Paralympic values of determination and equality.
