Oscar De La Hoya Shares His Thoughts About Ryan Garcia
Ryan Garcia’s recent outing with Floyd Mayweather, where they were seen enjoying a WNBA game together, has garnered significant attention. This rendezvous not only caught the eyes of fans but also drew reactions from Garcia’s former promoter, Oscar De La Hoya, who didn’t hold back his thoughts.
When the news initially broke, De La Hoya expressed his delight for Garcia, especially with the ongoing speculations about Garcia potentially inking a deal with Mayweather. Now, he has reiterated his viewpoint while speaking with Fight Hub TV.
He stated, “I don’t know what it’s all about but it’s none of my business. Any fighter can hang out with anyone, it’s just the nature of the beast it doesn’t really matter. On the contrary I think Ryan hanging out with Floyd he can get a lot of knowledge from Floyd because he was/is one of the best boxer’s out there. And I know the fact that Floyd is not giving any business advice but I know for the fact that Floyd is not giving him any business advice.”
He added, “But I know that he can give him fight advice and if Ryan soaks it in and listens it can only help him. But for Ryan Garcia we are hoping him that we have a date for him in November so we are figuring out the opponent and we feel that Ryan is at 140 can be a force to reckon with.”
According to Hoya, he’s perfectly fine with their hangout, as he believes that people can socialize with whomever they choose. He also mentioned that he understands Floyd Mayweather’s ability to offer valuable fight advice to Ryan Garcia, and if Garcia takes it to heart, it can only benefit him.
Additionally, Hoya revealed that they are currently working on securing a date for Garcia in November and are in the process of determining his opponent. They have high hopes for Ryan at 140 pounds and see him as a formidable force in that weight class. And now it will be interesting to see how the things move forward.
