Game 1
Manjunath entered the semis by defeating Hong Kong’s Chan Yin Chak in the quarterfinal in straight sets while Adinatha, who entered the tournament as a qualifier won against France’s Arnaud Merkle in three sets to enter the last-four.
- Mithun Manjunath started the year with the India Open, he had to withdraw from the tournament in the second round after testing Covid Positive.
- He then played the Syed Modi International and was the only Indian to qualify for the semis in Men’s singles, where he lost to Arnaud Merkle.
- In the Odisha Open, he lost to compatriot Pawan Rajawat in the quarterfinal.
- Before Orleans Masters, he played in the Polish Open and made a third round exit after losing to Lim Chong King in straight sets.
- At the Orleans Masters, he faced compatriots Katikey Kumar and Siddharth Pratap Singh in the first two rounds and defeated them in straight sets.
- He then clinched an upset win over second seed Hans-Kristian Vittinghus after fighting back from one set down.
- In the quarterfinals, he stormed past qualifier Chan Yin Chak to reach the semis. He is looking to win his first title this year.
