No takers for Asian gold medalist! ‘Ankle breaker’ Vishal Bhardwaj goes unsold in PKL Auction

Prolific India defender Vishal Bharadwaj, who went unsold on Day 1 of PKL auction, had no takers on Day 2 as well

Defender Vishal Bharadwaj went unsold on Day 2 of the Pro Kabaddi League (PKL 11) auction on Friday. The Asian Games gold medalist, who was with Dabang Delhi the previous edition, found no takers in the auction. It is pertinent to note that Vishal is the 10th most successful defender in PKL.

Vishal Bharadwaj goes unsold

The India team defender with a base price of Rs 20 lakh went unsold on Day 1. Last year too, Vishal Bharadwaj went unsold on Day 1 but was picked up on Day 2 by the Dabang Delhi team. In PKL, Vishal Bharadwaj has 28 points from 19 games. With 36 tackle points to his name, he has a tackle success rate of 46% .

The defender has earned himself the nickname ‘ankle breaker’ after his signatnure move – the ankle hold – terrorized many of the raiders. In five raids, he has earned two raid points with just 20% success. But defending is Vishal’s strength, with the defender having 68 tackles to his name so far in PKL.
