Nitesh’s gold takes India to 22nd position in Paris Paralympics medals table

With the second gold from Nitesh, Team India has risen to 22nd position in the Paris Paralympics medals tally.

Team India has been been exceptional in the ongoing Paris Paralympics, where the athletes have brought many laurels for the country. Although there have been a few misses as well, but largely, it has been a successful campaign for India. In fact, on Monday, the campaign became even more successful as shuttler Nitesh Kumar brought India’s second gold medal, in the men’s singles SL3 category, after beating Great Britain’s Daniel Bethell 2-1.

A couple of days back, shooter Avani Lekhara had brought a gold in women’s 10m air rifle standing SH1. InsideSport takes a look at the Paris Paralympics medals table, and all the athletes who have won a medal for India till now.
