World Champion and Asian Games medalist boxer, Nikhat Zareen, is set to make her comeback at the forthcoming Elroda Cup 2024 in Astana, Kazakhstan. The Boxing Federation of India recently unveiled a 21-member squad for the event, with Nikhat gearing up for the Paris Olympics in the 52kg category.
Despite not actively participating in tournaments, other Olympic-bound boxers like Lovlina Borgohain, Preeti Pawar, and Parveen Hooda continue their rigorous training sessions. India secured four boxing quotas for the Paris Olympics at the 2023 Asian Games, all in the women’s category.

However, the male boxers are yet to secure any quotas, despite their efforts at the First World Olympic qualifiers. Notably, veteran Shiva Thapa will make his return in the 63.5 kg category after missing out on the squad for the final Olympic qualifiers scheduled in Thailand from May 23rd.

Women’s Team: Minakshi (48kg), Anamika (50kg), Nikhat Zareen (52kg), Sonia (54kg), Manisha (60kg), Sonu (63kg), Manju Bamboriya (66kg), Shalakha Singh (70kg), Lalfakmawi Ralte (81Kg), and Monika (81+kg).
