Pakistan’s ace javelin player, Arshad Nadeem, received sponsorship from the Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise Multan Sultans.
The franchise announced on Wednesday on X (formerly known as Twitter) that they will be supporting Arshad ahead of the Paris Games.
Complained about sponsorship
This partnership is particularly significant in light of Nadeem’s earlier statements about the lack of sponsorships he had received despite his accomplishments.
India’s Neeraj Chopra also highlighted the issue. In a recent interaction with SAI, he said, “It is hard to believe that he has been struggling to get a new javelin. Given his credentials, this should not be a big issue at all.”
The Neeraj-Arshad Rivalry
Nadeem, who secured a history-making silver medal at the World Athletics Championships, has become a national hero for his dedication and exceptional talent. He won a gold medal at the 2022 Commonwealth Games.
Neeraj Chopra and Arshad Nadeem always have an on-field rivalry.
They have faced each other on the field nine times, in which India’s golden boy, Neeraj Chopra, emerged victorious on all occasions.
Although Nadeem has a career-best throw of 90.18 metres, Neeraj Chopra has yet to cross the 90-metre mark.
