Neeraj Chopra, a Subedar in the Indian Army 4 Rajputana Rifles, will be conferred the award on Wednesday. Apart from that, a life-like replica of him will feature on the Haryana tableau during the parade as per The Directorate of Information, Public Relations and Languages Department of the state.
According to the Directorate of Information, Public Relations and Languages Department, Haryana, a total of ten Olympians will be a part of the tableau.
Neeraj Chopra won the gold medal for India in Javelin Throw event at the Tokyo Olympics. The Haryana lad is only the second Indian individual after Abhinav Bindra to win an Olympic gold.
He had enrolled in 4 Rajputana Rifles as a direct entry Naib Subedar in 2016. He was chosen for training at the Mission Olympics Wing and Army Sports Institute in Pune.

On the 73rd Republic Day, 12 Shaurya Chakras, 29 Param Vishisht Seva Medals, 4 Uttam Yudh Seva Medals, 53 Ati Vishisht Seva Medals, 13 Yudh Seva Medals. Apart from this, 122 Vishisht Seva Medal, 81 Sena Medal (Gallantry), 2 Vayu Sena Medal, 40 Sena Medal, 8 Navy Medal, 14 Vayu Sena Medal (Devotion to Duty) will be conferred for their achievements.
