Neeraj Chopra to compete in Zurich and Brussels Diamond League despite injury concerns

Neeraj Chopra, despite dealing with an adductor injury, will compete in the Zurich and Brussels Diamond Leagues next month. He recently set a season-best throw of 89.49 meters at Lausanne.

India’s golden boy Neeraj Chopra is all set to compete in the upcoming two Diamond League events. According to sports journalist Nlikhi Naz, the 26-year-old will participate in the Zurich Diamond League and the Brussels Diamond League next month.

Initially, after the Paris Olympics, Neeraj planned to compete in the Lausanne Diamond League and then consult doctors about his lingering groin injury. However, there have been changes to the Haryanvi athlete’s plans. He will consult with the doctors after the conclusion of the competition.

When is the next Diamond League?

The Zurich Diamond League is scheduled for 5th September 2024, while the Brussels Diamond League will take place on 13th and 14th September 2024. Neeraj has already qualified for the finals of the Diamond League, which will also be held in Brussels.

Neeraj achieved his season best throw in Lausanne

Neeraj Chopra delivered a notable performance at the Lausanne Diamond League on Friday, setting his season’s best with a throw of 89.49 meters. This throw slightly surpassed his previous season-best of 89.45 meters from the Paris Olympics.
