Neeraj Chopra reveals month he will start competing in, says yet to chalk out final plan

Neeraj Chopra is the reigning Olympic and World Champion, and would like to defend his title at Paris 2024.

It is almost February, and India javelin star Neeraj Chopra will look to defend his Olympic title at Paris 2024, in a few month from now. The Olympics this year, get underway from July 26, and Neeraj has confirmed that he will start competing from May. That means, his pre-Olympic schedule will be a little over two months.

“I am yet to chalk out a final plan, we will do that in March. But most probably, I will start the competition in May,” Neeraj said in an interview with PTI.

The most important factor for Neeraj currently is to say injury-free, and work a bit on technique as well. “Also, I want to remain injury-free. In the past few years, there were small injuries, which caused interruptions in my schedule. So, I have to also work on small exercises to save myself from injuries.

“There should not be any distractions because of those kind of small injuries. I want to be fully fit and give my best in Paris. That is my focus,” he signed off.
