Neeraj Chopra is still India’s favorite sports person, despite failing to defend his gold medal at the Paris Olympics, in July this year. There isn’t any trophy in the world, that is missing from his cabinet, as he decides to repeat his feats in the coming years, once again. For the same, he has roped in a new coach — Jan Zelezny, after Dr. Klaus Bartonietz called it a day, after five-year long association.

Now, the superstar, Neeraj Chopra will travel to South Africa, for off-season training, with two goals on his mind — to stay fit, and cross the 90m barrier in the upcoming season. But apart from all this, there is a lighter side to the man from Haryana, that keeps coming to the fore, in a few of his interviews.
Now, while speaking with Lucknow Times, Neeraj revealed, that if not a sports person, he would have been a photographer. Often, he has been seen speaking with photographers, at different competitions. “I feel, if I weren’t an athlete, I would have been a good photographer. I like photography and even own a professional camera with expensive lenses. I haven’t taken a professional course in photography yet. It is a hobby that I am very passionate about,” Neeraj told LT.
Further, he mentioned, that even though he likes cooking for himself when training abroad, but nothing comes close to home-cooked food. “Muje sirf ghar ka ki khana pasand ha ( I just love the food prepared at my home) and I miss my dal-chawal which is my favourite. Namkeen chawal makhan dalke bhi bahut pasand hai (pulao with a lot of butter is something I enjoy),” he said.
The conversation did not end there, and Neeraj went on to reveal his favorite actress, and movie as well. “ When I was kid I liked Emma Wason in the role of Hermione Granger in Harry Potter. It is one of my favourite movies.”
