The 38th National Games concluded on 14th February in Uttrakhand with athletes from different states competing in the biggest national-level multisport tournament. Jharkhand announced 1.65 crore prize money
Jharkhand has announced a total prize money of Rs 1.65 crore for their athletes who won 25 medals at the National Games in Uttarakhand. Chief Minister Hemant Soren congratulated the athletes and instructed the sports director, Sandeep Kumar, to allocate the funds. The medal winners, who bagged 7 gold, 6 silver, and 12 bronze medals, are expected to receive their prizes at a felicitation ceremony this month. Jharkhand performed strongly in lawn balls, taking home 5 golds, 2 silvers, and 2 bronze medals, while archery star Deepika Kumari contributed a gold to the state’s six medals in archery.
Odisha gives 6 lakh for gold, MP 5 lakh
Odisha announced cash rewards for their memedallistsoffering Rs 6 lakh for each gold medal, Rs 4 lakh for silver, and Rs 3 lakh for bronze. Meanwhile, Madhya Pradesh and host Uttarakhand also declared cash prizes to encourage their athletes.
Meanwhile, Madhya Pradesh announced Rs 5 lakh for each gold medallist, Rs 3.2 lakh for silver, and Rs 2.4 lakh for bronze. The state had a successful outing, winning 82 medals in total, which included 34 gold, 26 silver, and 22 bronze medals.
Uttarakhand’s prize money is double that of Odisha
Uttarakhand offered Rs 12 lakh for each gold medalist, Rs 8 lakh for silver, and Rs 6 lakh for bronze. Their athletes won a total of 103 medals, comprising 24 golds, 35 silvers, and 44 bronzes, reflecting their impressive performance as hosts.

Meghalaya assures jobs
The Meghalaya government promised cash rewards, scholarships, and government jobs to their National Games medalists. These incentives will be given according to the state’s sports policy to support successful athletes.
Haryana’s reward scheme
Haryana runs a scheme under which national-level medalists receive cash awards: Rs 25,000 for gold, Rs 15,000 for silver, and Rs 10,000 for bronze. The state athletes excelled, winning 153 medals, including 48 golds, 47 silvers, and 58 bronzes, highlighting their sporting prowess.
